Noel Fitzpatrick Ltd believes that protection of the environment is everyone’s business and the company policy of developing environmental awareness within our workforce has been an important part of the company’s growth.
The company recognises the impact its activities has on the environment and has made a corporate commitment to improving its environmental performance through its Environmental Policy and Procedures.
The Welsh Assembly Government’s 'Wise About Waste' strategy has set targets to re-use and recycle construction and demolition waste. By 2010 they aim to re-use and recycle at least 85% of construction and demolition waste produced.
Noel Fitzpatrick Ltd aims to reach these targets through better planning and waste management. The company has set targets for:
- Waste Reduction and Control
- Energy Savings
- Pollution Control
- Water Efficiency
These targets are measurable and manageable and will ensure the company’s success in reducing our construction and demolition waste considerably earlier than the Welsh Assembly Government’s target of 2010.
To help us achieve our targets and ensure a continuing reduction in waste sent to landfill the company operates our own recycling facility for inert construction waste, still in its early operational stages, once fully developed we hope to offer this facility to other contractors in the area, ensuring waste is recycled locally and producing a good quality recycled aggregate for re-sale.
